Only two and a half weeks to go until the third edition of the Innovation for Crisis Management (I4CM) to be organised from 3rd to 4th September 2018 in Warsaw (Poland) at the Copernicus Science Centre will take place.

The programme was now finalised and almost 200 participants from various countries and different disciplines registered to the event.

DETAILED PROGRAMME

The event programme will put a very strong emphasis on interactivity between practitioners, solutions providers and policy-makers. To allow such an exchange the event will be structured around two parts: the CONFERENCE and the OFF PROGRAMME.

MONDAY, 3RD SEPTEMBER 2018 (I4CM CONFERENCE PROGRAMME)

The event will begin on Monday September 3rd, 2018 at 10am with registrations and welcome coffee, followed by an opening address provided by Philippe Quevauviller, Policy Officer Research at DG Migration and Home Affairs (European Commission). Thereafter follows a keynote speech to introduce the DRIVER+ project and the I4CM event by Marcel van Berlo, Technical Coordinator of the DRIVER+ project (TNO).

Three Panel sessions will take place on the first day.

11.20-12:30- Panel session 1

Challenges and opportunities in complex Crisis Management situations: Inter-agency and cross border cooperation processes and instruments. Lessons from national experiences and research projects: Real Cases, Exercises and Good Practices

14:30 – 15:40- Panel session 2

Challenges and obstacles in sharing and coordinating information during multi-agency disaster response.

15:40 – 16:50: Panel session 3

The importance of standards development in case of multi-agency disaster response: How can standardisation improve the capabilities of the European Union and Members States?

From 17.20-18:45 on the 3rd of September the Forum of Ideas & Wrap up of the day will take place. The Forum of Ideas will provide a space for initiatives to deliver impactful presentations (10 minutes) to inform on their activities, solutions and results.

In addition, throughout both days of the event a poster session and market place will be organised allowing related projects and initiatives to promote their activities and results.

The event will be closed by a networking aperitivo on the first day which allows for further discussions.

TUESDAY, 4TH SEPTEMBER 2018 ( I4CM OFF PROGRAMME)

On September 4th during the OFF programme of the event, attendees will be allowed to partake in interactive sessions, to meet, share experiences and learn more about EC-funded projects as well as other ongoing Security/ Crisis Management initiatives.

The event will begin at 9.00am by welcoming all participants.

The official programme will commence at 10am and will include the following sessions:

  • Practitioner Networks workshop on standardisation
  • SEG GM01 projects
  • Crisis Management Innovation Network Europe (CMINE): A Community of Practice in Crisis Management
  • DRIVER+ 1st Trial design, results and lessons learnt
  • DRIVER+ 2nd Trial scenario and methodology
  • Wall of Challenges, Wall of Standards, CMINE registration booth & Portfolio of solutions registration booth
  • Demonstration of the DRIVER+ Guidance Tools, Methodology, Test-bed and Portfolio of Solutions on the context of a trial

Next to these sessions the poster session and market place will be organised. The event will be closed at 18.00pm.
